As stated in the Sutra on the Differences in Karmic Retribution Spoken by the Buddha for Elder Śuka, offering fragrant flowers to the Buddha brings ten merits as:
1. Being as beautiful as a flower (dignified appearance)
2. A body ever pure and fragrant
3. Cultivating both blessings and wisdom
4. Attaining Nirvana swiftly etc.
The Wesak float procession adorns the float vehicle with flowers and lights, not only commemorating the compassionate teachings of the Buddha but also joyfully spreading the Dharma’s blessings.
Essentially the float offering is an act of beautifying the Buddha’s work with fresh flowers and art. It not only upholds the tradition of floral offerings but also dynamically spreads the Dharma’s benefits, creating immeasurable merit.
