The lamp symbolizes wisdom and light — a radiant expression of awakening.
As recorded in “The Expanded Commentary on the Treatise of Hidden Virtue” those who offer light receive six kinds of blessings:
1.Clarity of Vision — the eyes become bright, the divine eye clear, and wisdom awakened.
2.Joyful Heart — the mind is at ease, free from sorrow and worry.
3.Purity of Body and Mind — one remains untainted and not led astray by ignorance.
4.Fearlessness — life becomes peaceful and secure, with abundant sustenance and no fear.
5.Good Health — free from illness and pain, the body strong and well.
6.Longevity — life is extended, radiant with vitality and light.
Through the merit of this offering, may we pray for:
growth in blessings and wisdom, dignified appearance, success in career, well-being of body and mind, peace and happiness, and the complete fulfillment of all wishes.
