As stated in The Sutra on the Merit of Offering Lamps “The blessings gained from offering light are boundless and immeasurable only the Tathāgata can truly, comprehend them.”
The merit of offering a lamp is vast beyond measure, known only to the Buddha.
Lighting a lamp brings twofold benefits:
1.Spiritual (Transcendent) Benefit:
One attains true wisdom, overcomes obstacles in cultivation, purifies the five poisons and evil karma, and ultimately transcends the cycle of birth and death.
2.Worldly Blessing:
One gains good health, noble appearance, clear vision, the love and respect of others, freedom from harm, fulfillment of heartfelt wishes, and abundance in wealth and virtue.
The lotus lamp cup symbolizes the offering of flowers, a gesture that beautifies one’s appearance and leads to the attainment of the Buddha’s radiant and perfected form.
Through the merit of this offering, may we pray for:
growth in blessings and wisdom, dignified appearance, success in career, well-being of body and mind, peace and happiness, and the complete fulfillment of all wishes.
Any surplus of the offerings will be transferred to our donation box for Dharma Propagation as well as to help those in need so that the merits from your donation will grow endlessly.
