In Lamrim, Master Tsongkhapa tells us the merits of offerings in 《Praise in Honor of One Worthy of Honor》 : “No field of merit like you, Exists in the three worlds – You are the supreme recipient of gifts, The pure ones who makes a row of monks pure.”
The merit fields of the Three Jewels of Buddha, Dharma and Sangha, cannot be found in any of the three worlds under any situation. Therefore, we should make offerings to the Three Jewels, because the Three Jewels are pure and perfected. If we can plant seeds in these merit fields, the effects will truly be the most perfect.
Offerings is not only an expression of our respect to Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, but also an expression of our gratitude to Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Sincerely invite you to thank the Buddha for his teachings by making offerings to the most immeasurable merits field on the day of Buddha’s Enlightenment.
