Supreme merits: In the《Sutra on the Differences of Karma as Taught by the Buddha to Elder Śrīgāma》”, it is stated: “If there are sentient beings who offer fragrant flowers, they will attain ten kinds of merits: Firstly, their conduct in the world will be like flowers. Secondly, their bodies will be free from foul odours and impurities. Thirdly, the fragrance of merits and precepts will pervade all directions. Fourthly, wherever they are born, their nasal organs will remain unimpaired. Fifthly, they will transcend the mundane and be revered by many. Sixthly, their bodies will always be fragrant and pure. Seventhly, they will delight in the proper Dharma, uphold, and recite it. Eighthly, they will possess great merits. Ninthly, at the end of their lives, they will be reborn in heavenly realms. Tenthly, they will swiftly attain Nirvana.
