光明莲花灯供养 Luminous Lotus Lamp Offering

在药师佛诞日点一盏莲花灯，等同发一分光明愿力，既是供养佛陀、也是照亮自己与众生的生命。 

🌿 莲花灯象征意义

• 莲花：象征清净、觉悟与自性本无染。出淤泥而不染，正如修行人于世间行菩萨道而心不被染著。
• 灯光：象征智慧与希望，能照破黑暗与无明，化烦恼为光明。

📜 《大智度论》卷二十八中提到：若有人在佛塔或佛像前供灯，会得到十种功德：

1. 如灯照世 —— 成为照亮他人生命的人；
2. 得天眼 —— 能够得到天眼通的能力；
3. 智慧增长 —— 生生世世有清明心智，能分辨善恶、破除愚痴；
4. 破除黑暗 —— 能断除烦恼与无明；
5. 福报广大 —— 聚集不可思议的福德；
6. 命终生天 —— 来世得生善趣；
7. 眼睛明亮 —— 视觉无障，色见分明；
8. 得宿命智 —— 知过去因果，增长觉悟；
9. 随愿所见 —— 能见到想见的善知识，随愿所求，福报具足；
10. 速证涅槃 —— 快速走上觉悟之道。

Lighting a Lotus Lamp on the Medicine Buddha’s holy day is like offering a light of aspiration — a radiant prayer that honors the Buddha while illuminating the path for yourself and all beings.

🌿 Symbolic Meaning of the Lotus Lamp

• Lotus: Symbolizes purity, awakening, and the untainted true nature of the mind
• Light: Represents wisdom, hope, and the dispelling of ignorance and darkness

📜 Merit of Light Offering as Taught in the Mahāprajñāpāramitā-śāstra, Volume 28

1. Illuminates the world like a lamp – They bring light and guidance to others, just like a lamp dispelling darkness.
2. Attains the divine eye – Gains subtle perception beyond the physical, seeing things ordinary eyes cannot.
3. Wisdom grows clearer – In lifetime after lifetime, they possess sharp discernment and dispel ignorance.
4. Removes inner darkness – They eliminate delusion, confusion, and mental afflictions.
5. Receives vast blessings – Accumulates immense, boundless merit and good karma.
6. Is reborn in happy realms 
7. Has clear vision in every life 
8. Remembers past lives – Attains insight into previous existences and the law of karma.
9. Sees what they wish to see – Encounters good teachers and teachings, in line with their aspirations.

Swiftly attains Nirvāṇa – Progresses quickly on the path to enlightenment and liberation.
